This is a "smash cake" for a boy's first birthday. Lemon with buttercream and cream cheese frosting. Made with a loaf cake pan. Simple, but I think he liked it, and he gets a toy to play with when he is done.

Course, he loved the airplane so much that he took it off and played with it without TOUCHING the cake. I'm sure he was convinced the whole thing was just a toy! It took a full 5 minutes for him to really dig in -- but then he did DIG and we had to finally drag him away!! DELICIOUS & GORGEOUS!! Thanks, Jenn!
