All Aboard!

This was my first attempt at a 3D style train. It was a great learning experience. The whole cake is covered in buttercream. The wheels are chocolate covered mint Oreos. The chains are pipe cleaners, and the smoke stack ball is softened starburst molded in to a ball. The rest is cake. The boy whos birthday this is for, likes trains and dinos. So, I tried to include both. Enjoy!

Take-Off!

This is a "smash cake" for a boy's first birthday. Lemon with buttercream and cream cheese frosting. Made with a loaf cake pan. Simple, but I think he liked it, and he gets a toy to play with when he is done.

Airplane

This is a chocolate cake with crusting buttercream. So far, this is the most diffcult and time-consuming cake I have ever made. I was really nervous about it and sooo afraid the family wouldn't like it, but it was hit. More importantly, Jake (3) liked it a lot. The plane is 5 seperate pieces, crumb coated, frozen, then piped frosting on and smoothed with a hot spatula. And the red and blue on the plane is the new Wilton sparkle jels. I got them at Crafty Things on Kadena AB.

Ladybug

A ladybug cake for a first birthday. The idea was inspired from a magazine picture. I really enjoyed making this cake. Homemade red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting (YUMMM!). The dots are mini York patties and the head is a regular York patty.

Basketball

This one was intimidating, but I am happy with the outcome aside from the crooked line. It is yellow cake and buttercream frosting. I used 2-8" cakes and 1-6" cake for the net and shaved some scraps off and for the ball I used the Wilton wonder mold pan for dolls and shaved a little off. It was easier to see how much I should have cut off of the ball after I frosted it. Now I know. The ball was a first for me.

Slice of Cake

This is a cake for a friend of mine. She likes green and she likes frogs. It is a silver-white cake with strawberry cream filling and whipped cream frosting. The blue squiggly lines are candy melts and the dark brown dots and details are chocolate ganache. The cool thing about this cake is that it works with any theme and any occassion.

Options

Hello everyone. Just in case anyone is wondering about the details of the cakes I make, I thought I would mention it just to save some time.

I can make any flavor of cake you want. Anything from silver-white to chocolate-mint, even banana if that is what you like.

For frosting: Fondant, buttercream, ganache, boiled, whipped cream, cream cheese, melted candy. And most can be flavored.

Design: 3D, tiered, sheet, whatever. That is the great thing about cake...you can create so many things with it, and eat it too!

Colors: whatever you want for your theme.

I hope that just about covers it. If you want a cake and are unsure of all the details, I can help with that too. Just let me know. And the prices are all dependent upon size and cost of materials.

So, if you would like a cake, think about all of the things you want and email me or call...633-8161 the4bizjaks@hotmail.com

Kung Fu Panda

This was my first time making a Kung Fu Panda cake. It was for an adult, so I wanted to try and make Po edible. He is a sugar cookie. If it were for a kid, I would have used a toy intstead. My original idea was to make the cake to resemble the Jade Palace, but that would have made the cake HUGE and the request was for a medium-sized cake, so this is what I ended up with. Any comments or suggestions would be great.

Western style wedding cakes

I have had a few questions about Western-style (American) wedding cakes. I CAN do wedding cakes. From fondant to buttercream. Big to small. Just let me know what you need and I can make it for you. You can design your own or I can help and come up with some ideas with you. The options are endless. For wedding cakes, I will need 60 day advance notice (to order supplies, since our selection here is SOOO small) and a 25% deposit to cover supplies. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will try and post some pictures of wedding cakes to give you an idea of what I can do. Thank you for your support!
